Julie Shows, a Master Certified Coach, is the president of The Coaching Connection founded in 1996 to work with executives and leaders in personal and professional development. Julie's coaching is founded on 30 years of work experience in senior management and business ownership. Julie's coaching style builds on her experience to work with individuals to clarify their goals, create a strategy and get the results they want.

Julie's Clients

Julie coaches a variety of leaders in business and government. She works with organizations to design coaching programs that increase productivity, enhance development, retention, quality, and customer service. She develops coaching programs for individual leaders that combine clear vision with professional development and work-life balance.

Julie has worked with executives at FDIC, US Dept. of Agriculture, GTE, Genuity and Kinko’s in the areas of professional development, leadership and transition. She has worked with leaders in the professions or recruiting, accounting, law, sales and management to take their business to the next level. Julie also works as a mentor coach to coaches who are starting to develop their business.

Previous Experience

Julie has 16 years of senior management experience in national and international retail organizations. She managed total operation of sales in excess of $25 million and was responsible for the development and supervision of managers and their staff, 60-100 people.

Since 1987, Julie has been the owner of her own business, first in the financial services industry and since 1996 in the coaching profession. In 1999, her company was nominated for the Excellence in Business Award for the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce in Maryland. In addition to working with individuals, Julie has been a team leader in corporate initiatives for executive coaching, internal coach training programs and coach certification programs.

Education & Professional Affiliations

Julie has her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science from Miami University of Ohio. She has earned the credential of Master Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation and has a certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She is a Certified Success Coach and Life Purpose Facilitator by Success Unlimited Network®. Julie is a member of the International Coach Federation, the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber and past president of the Women Business Owners of Prince George's County, Maryland. She is on the faculty of the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching program and is currently teaching in the continuing education department of Laurel College Center, a partnership of Prince George's and Howard County Community Colleges.
